Dali meets Dior…well almost! PDF Print E-mail
Check out The Gallery on Charing Cross Road where from now until 31st July Fashion Is Art!
{mosimage}This new exhilarating exhibition of avant-garde fashion displays a range of inspirational designers; Matthew Williamson, Giles Deacon, Hussein Chalayan, Gharani Strok and Belle & Bunty to name but a few.
All brought together for the cause of Help A London Child, you can applaud their creativity as well as their charitable-ability! Their joint task was to create a piece of fashion art. Displaying the donated garments with clear craftsmanship… it sparks the thought that its about time we viewed fashion with a conscience instead of the fast paced self involved catwalks of life.
Darren Edwards – the managing director of luxury fashion label Xterity – decided it was time to take action when he learned that one in three children in London live under the poverty line. A shocking fact that spurred him into organising this charitable event. The fashion is art theme is intended to appeal to a wide range of fashion/art conscious minds, whilst fulfilling the main aim to help raise money for Help A London Child.
With creations sporadically hung within the gallery walls each designer projects beauty whilst simultaneously projecting the message of helping the local community. Here we can step back & admire the insightful delights of  tailored glory, safe in the knowledge that just by being there we too our contributing to the less fortunate.
But don’t let your good will stop there, London’s underprivileged children need our support, so get on board now in conjunction with our admirable designers & support this exhibition in the name of fashion, art & community!
