LFW Sept 08 - Henry Holland Print E-mail
This is by far Henry's most grown up collection. Layering and mixing up florals with polka dots, was a fresh and creative idea, giving an almost 'clashing' style, that somehow worked.

House of Holland

This S/S collection is a world away from the original 'House of Holland' selection of slogan tees and punky denim.

The collection brought together everything a commercially viable designer should have.

House of Holland

From the show stopping, see-through black dress (with modesty preserving polka dots) that Agyness Deyn sported later that evening, to the floral printed jacket/short combo, there was something for everyone in this collection.

Colours were really summery with bold florals in red, white, blue and green (all popular colours throughout the whole of fashion week), to the monochrome polka dots and splashes of yellow, to put an added spring in our steps.

The final phase of the collection saw a flurry of purple hues, ranging from almost blue-ish hues, lilac and deep satin purple.

This included both chiffon floral prints and deep purple bodices that were so sophisticated I could hardly believe that the man who brought me 'Uhu Gareth Pugh' had finally grown up to give women such stunningly pretty clothes.

Though there were cute long shorts, fabulous dresses and well cut jackets, Henry kept his naughty side, with 'cut-outs' and see through parts that just about kept the models modesty.

House of Holland

This was one of few collections this week to feature menswear too, which is for some reason a rare occasion at fashion week. The menswear though directly mirrored its female counter part and only those with 'Henry like' confidence and 'coolness' could get away with such bold florals and oversized polka dots.

House of Holland

Overall a good collection, that will remain popular through his celebrity following. It was nice to see a more grown up version of the House of Holland and I'm sure it will improve season on season.
