Bethany Hart Print E-mail
Hi, my name is Bethany Hart and I am not just like any ordinary keen 15-year-old girl. No ~ I have a passion for fashion!

Since my last blog on the 8th of January, I have achieved a lot that is connected to fashion;

I have produced A* work for a module in costume design as part of my GCSE drama which I really enjoyed. Being the second pupil to take on costume design in the entire school career and have achieved the highest result since last year's costume design student. My task was to design and produce a wearable costume suited to the time era and appropriate for every need. I also created a portfolio including all the sketches and step-to-step evaluation of me making the costume for the character Marjanah from the story Ali Baba and the forty thieves. I then had to present my work to the class and on camera talking through my 3 month working progress. It was a great success and I was honoured to have received such a high mark to add to my GCSE results.

I have performed in a drama production at school in March called ‘Oh What a Lovely War'. I played many different characters with different speaking parts and was 100% committed to the production. It was a great success and the whole cast were an attribute to the school.

Recently, I have designed some dresses; I decided to make a dress especially for the occasion of my work experience and should be wearing it at some point during my stay there. I have also assigned myself a couple of projects for my friends, one of them has a birthday coming up soon and I have promised to make a dress for her as well as making a little dress for another friend, it looks like a business could start off from this point! I have also found a vintage dress that I am going to reassemble and turn into an open -back dress as well as having a pencil skirt finish. All of these are just a few goals that I have set myself for over the summer.

I have also written articles and produced a photo shoot every month since December for Fashion Capital as well as having coursework and GCSE's going on at school. Each month has been a different type of fashion ranging from make-up to boots, choosing a photographer to help me for each article and models to assist me in making the articles look professional (otherwise known as my friends). Each article has been terrific and though sometimes it has been tough deciding what to write or having had some problems with the models or photographer, they all turned out to be professional and interesting. The most recent article I wrote for Fashion Capital was on bags and I used my local woods as the setting and made sure I had a set theme of the shoot, which was ‘rock chick'. It has been so much fun writing articles for Fashion Capital and producing my own shoots each month and has defiantly been fun for my friends to help me with so a big thank you to everyone of them who helped me out throughout these past 8 months. You can see all of the articles up on Fashion Capital now; all you have to do is search my name.

Since my last blog, I was so looking forward to all of these challenges, and now that I have achieved them all I couldn't be happier.  My work experience that has come along so quickly will soon have passed with even more ambitions to reach and more future achievements to make.
