Meanwhile, us followers of fashion will be smiling at the idea of trading in our thick 60-denier tights for sun soak-able bare legs - welcome to summer!

Romantic ruffles and billowing blouses along with Indiana Jones stylee safari shorts, as seen at Michael Kors, are set to accompany the hip-high hemlines and long lean pins which donned catwalks such as Luella and Balanciaga, to give us a feminine and bright uniform for summer.

Ultra violets, shiny yellows and florescent shades of orange are the colours to parade this summer, so forget the rave connotations that you associate with bold colours and get accustomed to the change in mood; from neon clad warehouse ravers to flirtatiously darling Hyde Park strollers.

With three trends; floral, safari and vibrant colour, present in Diane Von Frustenberg's collection this season, the designer has captured everything that summer should be about. The use of khaki in ethnic inspired prints coheres to the tribal trend; the use of vibrant neutral colours plays to the colour trend and Alex Wek in this beautiful strapless dress adheres to the floral trend.
