Eastbury Comprehensive Students make a Real Show of it! Print E-mail
Eastbury Comprehensive is a highly dynamic and vibrant school where students are always keen to explore innovative and exciting challenges.  The textiles department, a branch of Design and Technology is heaving with passion and creativity and has consistently produced innovative concepts since it first launched in 2003.

As part of Fashion Enters Getting it Right First Time initiative, Fashion Enter has been extremely proactive with the students of Eastbury Comprehensive School, providing them with workshops and seminars on the fashion industry. Last night saw the accumulation of their hard work in their highly dynamic Style Show, showing off the true calibre of the students work.

Bobbi Kumari, Head of Textiles at Eastbury School continues to be amazed at the vibrancy found in the Textiles classrooms and rejoices in the creativity and charisma that each Textiles student brings in their own unique way. On this years Style Show Bobbi commented:

‘We are so proud of the students that participated in this year's STYLE SHOW!!  The concept behind the event is to promote all things that are stylish, inspirational and creative at our school, which always features an amalgamation of Fashion, Music and Dance with fantastic food served by the Hospitality & Catering team.  The students that participate are always spectacular.  Particularly stunning this year, were the fashion collections and dance performances.  Samantha White, an incredibly talented year 11 choreographer, deserves particular recognition for her contribution to the show.   Our student ushers and Hospitality and Catering team were also outstanding and a total asset to the school.  This event is only possible with the support of the amazing staff we have here.  A special mention must also be given to Ron Albrow, Miss Taylor, Katie Morgan McNeil and Altus Oberholzer, without whom the event could not be impossible!  It really was the best show so far and we look forward with anticipation to next years event!!'

The Style Show was compeered by two young pupils, and included song and dance performances, with ambient music (prior to and at the interval) provided by two students.  In addition, everyone was seated at candlelit tables, upon which were plates of savoury buffet items, provided by Hospitality and Catering students. Those students - in traditional black and white service garb - also waited sweets and cakes, and provided a table-based drinks service.

In other words, the students, collectively, did make a real show of it!
