I hope all is well! I have got into this year in full swing with my guide book project, working on the new clothing and accessories range and supporting UK talent so here is the rundown...
Firstly, pick up a copy of PRIDE magazine this month as Samata's Muse is a featured clothing label on page 88! It features images of my collections and an interview which was carried out by the Fashion Editor.
For the aspirational modern woman of colour
Pride magazine has been the lifestyle bible of the woman of colour for nearly two decades so we are very excited to have been featured this month! Many thanks to Shevelle and the Fashion Team! Also in this month's issue is Janet Jackson: On S&M, baby making and her marriage jinx.
FashionAfrica.com was launched in February 2008, to serve as the online home of Africans in Fashion, HauTe Magazine - a 100+ page fashion magazine. It features the works of African designers all around the world, exhibiting a taste for the cultural tempered with an appreciation of the varied degrees of influence by the west in today's fashion. Website creator Wadami is introducing the concept of Young Fashion Entrepreneurs to the fashion world. As she says, '...you name it, some young fly African is doing it. I like to call them YFEs : Young Fashion Entrepreneurs.'

As you know I am launching a few new collections soon so we are having a sale of the few remaining hooded dresses through our website (which is soon to be completely revamped). They have proved popular and have been requested and worn by the likes of Dawn Richard of Making the Band 4, Jennifer Lopez and others. These fitted dresses are made from pure raw silk and feature a special lace design window at the back.
Last night I attended the album launch party at Paper for the UK's finest, Estelle. Her single 'American Boy' featuring Kanye West is currently number 1 in the UK charts. The party was a blast and also in attendance were Jamelia, Lupe Fiasco, producer JD, Black Twang, DJ Prince Charles, former Architects singer Nana and others.
P.S I finally went on holiday...to Barcelona! It was amazing...
