Dear All
Firstly Happy New Year!I know that you have not heard from me for a while but knowing me, you should know that means I am busy working on something! Lol! From December to now things have been manic as per usual....
Firstly, at the end of last year I was made an Ambassador for Girls! Make Your Mark which was of course very exciting! Girls! Make Your Mark is a campaign to encourage more young women to have ideas and make them happen either through running their own business or social enterprise or by making an idea happen at work.
Since becoming an ambassador I have had the opportunity to meet the team and other ambassadors and make plans for 2008 which will consist of networking meetings, work experience opportunities and events. There will actually be lots of different events through the year which I will keep you all posted on. Visit http://www.girlsmakeyourmark.org/ for further information.
Other ambassadors include Natasha Faith of exclusive Harvey Nichols brand La Diosa jewellery, who I had the pleasure of working with on a recent photo shoot. This jewellery is definitely a brand to watch out for so check out http://www.ladiosa.com/
I was also a runner-up for the Aristoc Woman of the Year 2007 which was very exciting!!

Aristoc's Ultra Woman initiative was a national search to find the nation’s most inspirational and high achieving women, covering all ages and occupations. Aristoc’s Ultra Woman ambassadors (who include Rachel Fanconi - Celebrity Fashion Stylist, Debbie Lovejoy - Creative Director BEN de LISI and June Sarpong - TV Presenter) trawled through hundreds of entries to narrow down the finalists and decide upon the winner.
The winner was revealed as Janette McCormick, the Chief Superintendent of Manchester Police’s Trafford division. Other finalists alongside me included Jessica Huie, Founder of colorblindcards.com and Nahid De Belgeonne - Mistress (and founder) of the Good Vibes Universe. Thank you to everyone who supported the Rugged Music Festival in Sierra Leone December 2007. It was hard work but we got there in the end and did something positive. I would personally like to say a huge personal thanks to my muse Dawn Richards and performer SWAY for their professional and much appreciated support
of the event. Well done to Rugged!
For 2008 Samata's Muse will see the launch of new ranges, an exciting book and music project which I will keep you all posted on too. Models please start sending your images in to for campaign and launch event.
Also, calling all aspiring designers! Please email your fashion industry questions to
. We are currently working on a project to provide advice and help to emerging designers and would like to know what questions you have in any area from marketing to manufacturing, from designing to dressing celebrities and Samata will answer them as part of the forthcoming project.

I will also be supporting other events and participating in talks and lectures this year, the first of which being 'Presenting Yourself to Investors' a special event organised by African Caribbean Business Network reaching out to the most progressive entrepreneurs who do not fear brilliance and want to increase their prowess. It is designed to offer a practical workshop that provides information, guidance and resources that enables participants to deliver effective presentations to financers from the private and public sector.
