What with Jacob Kimmie and Ashley Isham followed by
Amanda Wakeley day 2 at London Fashion Week was rapidly turning into an evening
frock fest.
Suede, mohair and cashmere added texture against pearlised leather, chiffon and liquid jersey. Moving into evening models emerged as warrior princesses as Amanda’s full-length gowns were toughened up with decorative stud work and armour style beading.
True to form the collection was distinctively Amanda Wakeley; sensual, confident and luxurious with a nod to contemporary trends and influences.

Amanda certainly knows how to cut a good frock that
fits and falls in all the right places. Her latest collection was inspired by
the languorous line of 1920’s illustrations by Jean-Gabriel Domergue. Models
were super slick and super lean with a silhouette, for the most part, that was
slinky and narrow on the limbs and more relaxed around the torso. Swing
jackets, cocoon coats and sweater dresses relaxed body-con separates and
skin-tight over-the-knee boots.
