Spirit’s Autumn/Winter 08/09 collection took place at the Ballroom at the
Landmark Hotel, a venue perfectly suited for the high-end luxury-clothing
brand.
A simple
collection combining armour like styling with an edge of rock & roll chic.
Black, gold and white dominated the colour palette with gold plating, chain
detailing and Swarovski crystals embodying the confident collection.
Silhouettes were svelte and uncomplicated with many styles repeated through out the collection. Printed T-shirts for both men and women baring slogans such as ‘Welcome to the Elite’ and ‘So Seductive’ and skintight black trousers splashed in metallic gold certainly implied glamour but almost crossed the line to garishness.
The overall aesthetic glamorous but not quite as luxurious as I think intended.

Delicate
satin and cotton sateen’s for shirts and blouses contrasted with more
structured pieces made from wools, leather and denim. The occasional animal
print and splashes of gold added to the seductiveness making the garments sexy
and desirable to a certain extent.
