LFW: Jacob Kimmie - ‘La Belle Excentrique’ Print E-mail
Jacob Kimmie opened this season’s off-schedule shows at London Fashion Week with his Autumn/Winter 08/09 collection ‘La Belle Excentrique’. Now in his third season, Kimmie showcased at the alternative venue opposite the tents - the Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

A range of clothing inspired by the fantasy of the modern woman displayed a quirky yet chic approach, a signature style Kimmie is fast becoming famous for.

Swagger-like coats and jackets in the blackest of black wool and spectacular calfskin were accentuated with patent leather belts, arm belts and epaulettes. Some were finished with luxurious fur collars with styling reminiscent of military uniform.

Striking skirts often tiered at the front only with cleverly constructed wool to create a luxurious fabric. Details were perfected with tiny roulou loops, zips and buttons to finish off cuffs.

Exquisite multi-coloured jewelled bracelets and thigh grazing patent leather stiletto boots added to the drama of the creations by creating killer style statements. All this in hues of black, shades of grey, white and dramatic flashes of graphic red made for a modern and salient collection.
