Week 1- We are second year students studying a BTec national diploma in Art/Fashion design at Barking college. We have been given a great opportunity to design and make a prototype t-shirt for top shop to be sold in the boutique section, this we have to do in  teams. Each team has been put together by Jo and Gayle-the teachers.  We received our topshop brief personally from the people behind this well known label, it's all very exciting as this is no ordinary project and we all have to make sure we make the most of this opportunity, as it will be good experience to put on all our cv's!

Our team name is Opqosites! and yes the p is back to front (it's not a typing error!). As you may have guessed we are all very different to one another, so hence the name.  To start with we brainstormed (very exhausting!) put lots of ideas down on paper and decided upon a colour theme and to use the various meanings/definitions behind this colour, and the lucky colour was: - Red!

 
Everyone went away and researched trends for spring/summer 08, and we come across lots of prints, ruffles and frills which we have decided to use in our designs. Theres been a lot of experimenting going on with fabric manipulation and we have managed to produce a good selection of samples.

 
Week 2- Opqosites collected market research and then from the results we started our proper design work. Everyone did their own designs and research into the theme, which we will incorporate into one later on. Also there was many images collected for the mood-boards, alongside this more samples were made.

 
Week-3 -Half term-Everyone was concentrating on their sketch books, getting everything together, finishing off any samples and research. Remember! We can't let our sketch books down as these are going to be marked individually and not as a team.
