The Fashion Weeks: NYC & London...

It’s been such a hectic past month with the fashion weeks in full swing.  I flew over to New York for the first time to attend Nolcha Fashion Week NYC ( www.nolchafashionweek.com) and  New York Fashion week at Bryant Park. It was a fantastic experience and I will most def be going back next year.

Nolcha Fashion Week:

The Nolcha Opening night commenced with a  runway show by acclaimed designer, Lei Marco  (www.leimarco.com) whose  incredible designs have graced the pages of Vogue, Esquire and Ocean Drive Magazine just  to name a few. His client list consists of Penelope Cruz, Naomi Campbell, Leonardo Di Caprio and Collin Farrell.

Other extraordinarily talented designers unveiling their latest collections at Nolcha Fashion Week included Katya Leonovich, Samata Angel, Patricia King-Davies, Emmy Award winning fashion designer Birgit Muller, US Project runway contestant Alison Kelly and so much more.

The trends worn on the night varied in style and most certainly were innovative. I especially liked these two ensembles…

At Bryant Park…

I fell in love with this dress in particular the flowy arms, It was just so me. This gorgeous lady happened to be a designer called Tori Nichel ( www.torinichel.com )and after having browsed her website I am  in love with her dresses from her current and previous collection.

General Street Trend…

On my shopping trip whilst out and about in New York I fell in love with this gentleman’s Marc Jacobs shades and retro style so had to take a quick snap shot.

My New York Best Buy:

I couldn’t leave New York without going shopping therefore set a few hours aside for a speedy shopping spree. I purchased a couple of pairs of shoes by Steve Madden (www.stevemadden.com )  which I am absolutely in love with despite the fact that I can’t actually walk in them and can only simply pose in them due to their 6 inch heel.

London Fashion Week:

So as soon as I got back from my wonderful trip from NYC, London Fashion Week commenced. I went to Gavin Pierre Medford’s ( www.gavinpierremedford.com ) fabulous London fashion week show for his S/S 08 collection entitled “Love thyself” at the Vauxahll Fashion Scout. This collection sees Gavin re-visit his love of the 18th century as reflected in his dramatically beautiful garments with intricate detailing and theatrical style hair and make-up. Gavin has also been nominated for the Urban Fashion Awards ‘best menswear designer 2007’.

Spitalfields Live Festival:

I attended the Spitalfield’s Live ( www.spitalfields.co.uk )  catwalk show and what a wonderful end to my fashion week. I especially loved the way they incorporated dance into their show. It was a fun and entertaining day out for all to enjoy.

My Fashion Art Collection:

Love Genevieve (My fashion art collection- www.lovegenevieve.co.uk ) was officially one of the sponsors for the Kaiz Agency ( www.kaizagency.com ) pink party in aid of raising money for breast cancer.  It was a very entertaining evening with a breathtaking live performance by UK duo Booty Luv.

So what’s next for me …

I should be in Paris next month promoting my Fashion Art collection so am very excited about the trip.  Next month will also see the launch of the print publication “Nolcha Metier” – www.nolchametier.com , which I have written articles for their trends and retail sections.

Stay tuned until next time,
