Laura Lees collection entitled, ‘La Vie En Rose’ after a song by French singer Edith Piaf, combined contrasting colours, patterns and her trademark appliqué designs to create a soft and feminine look disguising a subtler rough and dangerous edge.

Lees layered felt tunics and pinafores over turtle necks and puffball sleeved blouses.  Peachy pinks, turquoise and black and white monochrome stripes kept the look refreshing and youthful. A teal silk tunic with floral pattern added an oriental edge whilst knee-length empire frocks injected a folk influence. Summer dresses were carried over into autumn with opaque tights and a black & white striped Lily Allen style dress featured a sash waist and Lee’s signature appliqué around the hem.

The collection had an undercurrent of danger with spiked sashes around waists and spiked heels. A pink fabric floral muffler added unexpected detailing to the pretty frocks with a touch of grown-up quality.
