...well , the meeting with Funders at Holborn was a rush against time, we had 10 minutes each to ask our question to each representative! In the end Nesta wasn`t there, apparently because too many people wanted to speak with them and there wouldn`t be time enough for all so..
I was asking for a support to the marketing area of my business and apparently it is quite difficult as the majority of grants are for development, learning and project like shows (but not trade Fairs!)
Nevertheless I got in contact with this institution called Onelondon which told me a small loan would be available, at apparently very affordable rates (0%?) and I am going to meet them this week..
I would like to invest in promotional material to use for direct sales along with a proper web site. Another very interesting institution I think would be interesting is called UK TRADE AND INVESTMENT which among many marketing services (outside uk only) provide also with financial support for trade shows abroad! site: www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk
What's more..I have a very small Ad space in Selvedge for the next three months..and apparently I will be mentioned in this Textile forum magazine in the number about London Textile Forum which take place in September
I am still researching for the patent on my sharf, in early Feb I will have this workshop in British Library and in the meantime I am going to contact OWN IT an organisation specialised in intellectual property whithin the art field site: www.ownit.co.uk
My scarves are in the boutique at the moment..more reasonable prices, it is always hard to get a balance between the time spent on them and what people can really afford to pay (some galleries charge up to 200%!) ..but this is another story.. Let`s hope for the best!
