In 2006 I attended some great events and the highlights of my year included going to Paris on a buying trip on behalf of Elival Fashion Incubator boutique (where I met Pharrell and Chris Tucker), designing an outfit for Lindsey Fergusson for the Divinity Models special in association with the Clothes Show Live, my TV interview with SKY’s Channel BEN, winning the UK Urban Fashion Award for Best Couture Line, my launch fashion show and setting up a blog with Fashion Capital!

Channel BEN's Magazine Show Interview

This year will include more of the same - fashion shows, seminars, talks and the like. 2007 has already started well with the mailing list for my collections being set up on my clothing label website www.samatasmuse.com  (check it out in the Subscribe section).

I set up the mailing list to act as a holding page because people kept emailing and asking me when my clothing would be available to buy and where so…..as soon as it is available (both online and through a boutique in London) everyone on the mailing list will be the first to know.

Excitingly…. I have been made Fashion Editor of The Talent Magazine! This is a HUGE responsibility but also a great opportunity for me. The Magazine is being kept under wraps at the moment until its launch in May but until then here is a snippet of what it will look like!

The Talent Magazine is an indispensable resource for industry professionals and a unique platform for aspiring talent. Set for launch in April 2007 the magazine comprises of four main sections including Fashion, Film, Presenters and Other Talent. It will cover up-coming Models, Actors, Presenters, Make-Up Artists, Photographers, Designers, Writers, Directors and Artists etc. Founded by Zara Adams the team includes presenter Emily Rose, Leoni Kibbey, Tony Wellington and in association with a number of people including Ed Blum - Director/ Producer (Scenes of a Sexual Nature) and Vinnie Jones - Footballer/Actor (X Men, Rush Hour3).

This year I will also be launching two collections – a ready to wear collection (The Muses – Unique) and a fitted, beaded t-shirt range (The Muses – Humble Ambition), the latter of which is set to feature designs inspired by the character traits of strong, ambitious women.

The t-shirts are set to launch in March and the catwalk collection in April although knowing the fashion industry these dates are likely to change! I have been working on both of these for AGES so will be happy when they are out of my hands and free into the public domain for you all to rock with style! We have some amazing female celebrities lined up to rock the beaded t-shirts (which are using a special blend of fabrics to create a fitted, curve accentuating fit) including the stylish Gwen Steffani! All in all 2007 promises to be AMAZING and I have even higher hopes for this year than last – life is so unpredictable after all!
