Fresh New Talent at Miss SelfridgeMiss Selfridge - Eudon Choi Trench Coat

These days it’s almost de rigueur for the High Street to employ the talents of a known designer for a season or two. Not to be left out Miss Selfridge has a Bella Freud collection in store and now some exclusive designs by Eudon Choi. Eudon who, you may ask? Well, Miss Selfridge have rather cleverly got involved with designers in the making by sponsoring the Royal College of Art MA Fashion Show. The Combination of sponsorship with competition resulted in an all eyes on Eudon Choi moment, and the bright new talent now has designs available at Miss Selfridge. Signature pieces include a flannel skirt with rosette trim detail and a dramatic long trench coat featuring Eudon’s bow shoulder epaulettes.

Edwin Gets Impenetrable

Edwin Gore-Tex Jacket and JeansIn time for the chilly spell Edwin has just stocked up on their Gore-Tex denim jeans. Edwin, the top selling Japanese brand, has bonded Gore-Tex’s revolutionary patented membrane technology to a layer of their Rebel Vintage Japanese denim. Even the stitching holes have been taped over creating denim that is impenetrable against those harsh north winds and snow while maintaining breathability. Just don’t be surprised if you see jeans on the ski and boarding slopes this winter.

Gore-Tex® denim jeans are available now from The Edwin Store, priced £290

The Gore-Tex® denim jacket will be available from February 2006, priced £345

M&S Spring/Summer 06 CollectionM&S on Track for Spring/Summer 06

M&S put on a catwalk show this week presenting its must-have trends for Spring/Summer 2006. The roll-call of styles included an elegant white and navy nautical theme, a taste of South America with appliqué, embroidery and the like, touches of feminine broderie anglaise and some vintage style curve enhancing cocktail dresses. While key looks certainly took inspiration from the catwalk M&S retained commercial appeal and flattering wardrobe basics. The latest is that after a slump in sales M&S is gaining again after its successful ‘Your M&S’ advertising campaign. While this recent show says M&S is back and gives a gentle nod to the latest fashion trends.
