The way forward is to shop online Print E-mail
Too much to do and not enough time to shop! Are you always trying to squeeze everything in at once? Why not approach the matter in another way. By this, I mean shopping via the Internet! The way forward is to shop online.

Statistics clearly show that E-trade sales have risen £2.5bn over the Christmas period, this figure was up 70% on last year’s figures.  E-trading is growing at an outstanding rate, 19 times faster than conventional retail sales it has even overtaken the mail order market.

The Interactive Media Retail Group (IMRG) have recorded a staggering 12 million people in the U.K. bought on-line, but how about you?  Will you join the millions who are enjoying a stress free shopping experience?

The Statistics are clear in demonstrating that consumers are directly buying now via the Internet.  This has lead to a decrease in their conventional methods of high street shopping.  You know how tedious and frustrating it can be on the high street, with the relentless bombardment of humans, all rushing around like headless chickens to purchase their necessities at the weekends.

Inevitably, consumers are turning to the Internet, which clearly has strong advantages over the high street such as.

  • Convenience: Shopping on the Internet means no rain, no queues, no trekking around from shop to shop to find what you want, and you are not held down by heavy bags.
  • Choice: You can compare prices quickly and easily and shop nationally and internationally.
  • Cost: Not everything is cheaper on the web BUT when you consider the ways in which conventional high street stores are run.  For example, the overhead structure such as rates, rent and staffing costs.  Inevitably then you can see that there is some reduction in prices, which we as consumers can greatly benefit from.
  • Time: Just think-with 24-hour shopping you can shop when it suits you.  The Internet is open 24/7 it never shuts.

So, there you have it.  I know what I’d prefer! To be able to sit down at my computer armed with my trusty credit card in the comfort of my own home and shop peacefully.  Internet shopping has proven to be a secure and easy way to shop.  However, there are a few simple and sensible guidelines to follow.

  • Make sure the company explains who they are.  Use sites you know.
  • Only buy from companies that use secure pages when sending your credit card details.  Look for a padlock symbol at the bottom of the browser.
  • Always look for additional contact details of the company (telephone number and postal address)
