Kash Point is to hold exciting fashion show Print E-mail
Kash point (a sound storm production) are holding a fashion show on the 23rd September to end London Fashion week. Read on to find out more about this exciting event...

Matthew Glamorre, the entrepreneur  of Kash point is holding a fashion show entitled “Battle of the Boutiques” which will be held on the deck of Tattershall Castle.

The idea behind the show is to promote the emerging talent of the small boutiques in London along with the designers they support – these outlets and artists are driving the ‘new look’ that is receiving huge International press.

Their fashion week projects always generate large amounts of publicity for ‘underground’ London.

They have been in the following:-

10 pages for Italian Vogue

2 pages for the Times Style Guide

A story for Dazed

4 pages fro ‘Super Blow’ – the off schedule listings magazine

A DVD interview for the fashion week cover of ES magazine.

They are also taking part in a lonely Planet TV documentary about new London Fashion.

This is an excellent way for emerging designers to gain publicity with the help of Kash Point.  Matthew Glamorre, gives fashioncapital his run down on the event.

Matthew Glamorre,

Battle of the Boutiques September 23rd 2004.

Kash Point; the most influential night club/ event of the moment, renowned for it’s directional approach to appearance & music, presents the last show & party of London fashion week.

The world’s fashion press have beaten their way to the Kash Point Collections for the last 2 seasons to get a look at what is really happening on the cutting edge of style & creativity in Britain.

Battle of the Boutiques is not a competition but a celebration of the new, innovative & exciting boutiques in London & the designers they support. The objective is to publicise & promote the originality & retail reality of these small businesses, a kind of ‘outreach’ event to both the world media & the Government trading bodies who assist creative industries in Britain.

London is, once again, the world centre of street chic – the source of the first real ‘new look’ to emerge in the last 10yrs. However many of the creative individuals & entrepreneurs involved in making & promoting it Internationally find difficulty sourcing the support that is required to turn this cultural success into a financial one.

7 of London’s top Boutiques will choose a young designer to represent them, each designer will create 3/5 new ‘press pieces’ & style 5/8 outfits from garments / objects available in the store.  From Brick Lane to Soho the boutiques will then display shop windows by the designers for the week run up to the show (fashion week).

The catwalk is on the deck of The Tattershall Castle, a boat opposite the London Eye with views of the river from Big Ben to Blackfriars Bridge. This dynamic location ensures great press shots &  an ‘ultimate London’ feel to the event.

300 invited guests & press will attend the show whilst images will be relayed live via video screens to the public watching from the Embankment & Hungerford footbridge.  The boat will then host the Kash Point party to conclude fashion week.

Kash Point receives large amounts of coverage from the world media. Italian Vogue has shot a 10-page fashion story for the October issue. Already booked in the front row of the show are:

The Guardian

This event is currently unfunded. Kash Point, a Sound Storm Production, facilitates these high profile, quality events at it’s own expense as we firmly believe in London & everyone involved. However, this cannot continue; our revenue streams are extremely limited. We are looking to forge new relationships with other bodies interested in the continued growth & promotion of creative industries in Britain.
