Press Release on Lisa Larsson

Lisa Larsson is a 2004 fashion graduate from Central Saint Martins who has recently benefited from the help of government funded organisation Fashion Capital. It was by chance that Jenny Holloway of Fashion Capital stumbled upon her work. They happened to meet on the London Underground where Jenny spotted some of Lisa’s drawings through her portfolio which consisted of very intricate and delicate studies of decaying leaves and soft drapery.

That very morning Jenny had been contacted by the globally renowned Hallmark to find illustrators. The timing was perfect! After a short discussion they arranged to meet again and talk about Lisa’s work.

With public transport appearing to play a peculiar role in their liaisons, their second meeting was held at a café in Victoria Station. Here it was discovered that not only had Lisa illustrated for a publishing company before, but also been a finalist in The Daily Mail ’Not The Turner Prize’

and exhibited a stunning photo-realism painting of a Samburu bride at the Mal Galleries in London. Her illustration work consisted of designing a best-selling Christmas card for Woodmansterne, card suppliers of the V&A museum and John Lewis partnership where her work had sold out in every outlet and warehouse!

As Lisa neared the end of her degree she was selected to take part in the prestigious Central Saint Martins fashion press show. Here she spotted once again by Fashion Capital who posted pictures of her beautifully hand-draped viscose jersey collection onto their website as a coverage of the show.

Jenny decided to do a press release on Lisa about her collection and illustration work hoping that the exposure would attract attention and this is precisely what happened.

Soon after, a meeting was arranged between Hallmark and Lisa. The creative manager was so impressed by her work that he is currently hoping to commission Lisa to design a series of approximately 24 cards for the company.

Lisa is an exceptionally talented artist and with the help of the organisation Fashion Capital, she has been able to profit from the work that she loves to do the most.
