Press Release Lisa Larsson

Lisa Larsson is a 2004 fashion design graduate from Central Saint Martins.  Her elegant draped viscose jersey designs were selected for the prestigious Central Saint Martins graduate fashion show, which was held in June 2004. 

The collection, beautifull hand-sewn by Lisa.  As you can see from the pictures they are beautifully drapped and ruched.  The following two paragraphs is Lisa talking about her collection.

The inspiration for my collection is closely connected with my Swedish origin, drawing the colours from my own landscape watercolour paintings.  I begin any project by reflecting my research through fabric samples and, in this case, draped all the dresses around the theme of this fabric treatment.

The style also reflects a Gustavian theme through the colour combinations and clean, fresh look.
I do enjoy sewing though making every part of the collection was definately a challenge.  It was also not easy having to manage every aspect of the collection such as organising photoshoots, promotion and marketing within such a small space of time single handedly.  Being a design and marketing student I feel the neccessity for presentation and marketing even stronger than before as this is, essentially, what enables collections to sell.

Lisa is also an exceptionally talented artist and illustrator who has designed greeting cards for the publisher Woodmansterne-sole supplier for the V&A-which were available within the John Lewis Partnership for winter 2003 and sold out in every outlet and warehouse.

She has also featured a photographically-detailed painting of a Samburu bride as a finalist in the 2003 exhibition of the Daily Mail. 'Not the turner prize'.
