Government Launches Change4Life Campaign
Government has launched its far reaching Change4Life campaign.
TV adverts which started appearing on Saturday 3rd January form part of a wide-ranging campaign that involves Government, charity and industry partners and encourages people to ‘eat well move more live longer.’
The campaign is the centrepiece of Governments efforts to address the problems of obesity in England and Wales.
ACS is a key partner in Change4Life, ACS working with DH is helping local shops to increase sales of fresh fruit and vegetables. The project which aims to help stores to overcome the risks and barriers in stocking fruit and vegetables has started in the North East of England. The project will include 120 stores in early 2009 and if successful the project will be rolled out over the rest of the country.
ACS Chief Executive James Lowman said: “We are glad to be part of this major initiative. Local shops providing healthy choices to consumers at the heart of the community are a key piece in the Change4Life project. We are helping to bring better choice and variety particular in communities where fresh fruit and vegetables are less available.
“With the formal launch of the national campaign this weekend, the growing awareness of Change4Life will only help to make the project a success.”
