The Prince of Wales Medal for Arts Philanthropy celebrates those individuals who support the arts in its widest forms and recognise the contribution of the most inspiring philanthropists throughout the UK.
Colin Tweedy comments on the arts and the current economic downturn: "The cultural and commercial worlds will, in many cases, need to rebuild relationships, forge new friendships. Thanks to support from the Welsh Assembly Government and the Arts Council of Wales, A&B Cymru is delighted to announce the launch of a new cash investment programme. Tailored to the specific needs of Wales, the programme aims to increase private sector support for the arts across the country. From 16 May 2008, the programme will consist of two separate strands of investment – CultureStep and CultureScope.
