Hello All,

It may be a grey, damp summer so far but it’s all go in the world of fashion.

PIN Competition

First up, if you have a passion for fashion design and are based in the West Midlands then the PIN competition could be just for you. Whether you are a raw designer, fashion student or an individual bursting with ideas – alternatively if you are an established designer, designer maker or a design led manufacturer - the PIN competition has two levels of entry.

The prize: 12 finalists, 6 from each category will produce their collection of 6 to 8 pieces to be shown at a major catwalk event in Birmingham in January 2008. From this event 2 winners will be chosen, 1 from each category. Each winner will receive £10k in prize money, extensive media coverage, city centre retail profiling and business and PR support.

Fashion-Enter & WhereAreYouNow on CosmoGirl

Touching on the subject of media coverage the PR Dispensary service, available from our sister company Fashion-Enter, scored some exposure for the WhereAreYouNow? label on the CosmoGirl website, result! Unfortunately, they credited the wrong name but they have linked to Fashion-Enter so it's not all bad.

Pick of the Bunch – A Celebration of Floral Frocks

Editor JoJo Iles has been out and about. This week she visited a new exhibition ‘Pick of the Bunch’ at the Fashion Museum. Not to be confused with the Fashion & Textile Museum in Bermondsey, The Fashion Museum is the re-branded Museum of Costume located in Bath. Pick of the Bunch celebrates the love of floral prints from the last 100 years making for a vibrant summer show.

Here’s a taster from the exhibition...

The eight-week programme offers a rich and dynamic approach to enterprise and creative business practices and aims to engage, motivate and promote enterprise as a viable progression route, to a group of young people aged 16 - 20. It aims to equip young people with practical business skills and knowledge, whilst developing basic key skills through creativity and a multitude of learning processes. Calling on the experience gained from Graduate Fashion Week, the Fashion-Enter team, selecting materials and customising designs, the graduates will be ready to show off their creations on the catwalk on Thursday 2nd August at The Albany Theatre, Deptford.
