Hanging it all together for the fashion industry

18th July 2007

Hello All,

What an exciting week it’s been so far.

Advanced tie-in with FashionCapital

First up we are pleased to announce our collaboration with Advanced, the garment processor and fashion logistics provider, which will ensure Fashion Capital’s Business Directory is the first port of call when sourcing suppliers.

MODA exhibitors will get the chance to boost their online presence thanks to the tie-in. Advanced and FashionCapital have agreed to work together to enhance Fashion Capital’s business directory and make it the definitive suppliers guide for the British Clothing Industry.

Matthew Ludlam commented: “The enhanced business directory should be of interest to all companies. Those companies which are switched on in terms of web marketing will already appreciate its business value – and may well be able to reduce their online advertising spend because of it over time. Those who either don’t have a website or haven’t had it optimized for search engines will gain a visible presence for free. All it will cost is the time it takes to visit us at Moda and pass on the details.”

The business directory currently features standard contact and address information, but the listings are set to be enhanced as part of Fashion Capital’s website re-launch, which is due to take place at the end of September. The new listings will also feature logos and website addresses and will allow companies to associate their listing with the relevant keywords that describe their business. This new keyword facility will greatly improve search engine visibility, which is a must if companies are to be found by prospective customers online.

Moda is scheduled for 12 -14 August at the NEC Birmingham www.moda-uk.co.uk and The Advanced stand is number FK36 - close to the catwalk in the footwear section.

The Boys Join Profile 8

Due to much demand the menswear section of Profile is back and will be sponsored by Debenhams.

Adam Creasey, Director of Menswear said: “Debenhams continually prides itself on sourcing new designer talent in menswear. As the original retailer that highlighted the importance of the designer sector in retail we are delighted that Profile is now back into its 8th season at Fashion Expo at the Islington Business Design Centre. As always we are looking for the highest quality winning designer to showcase in our flagship store on Oxford Street. Debenhams is proud to be part of the event that helps new emerging designers succeed."

Debenhams will join Whistles and main line sponsor Hobbs for another exciting season of fresh new talent. The applications have been pouring in but it’s not too late to apply. If you are a designer in womenswear, accessories, and particularly menswear then the closing date for applications is 17th August. If your designs are shortlisted then interviews will take place in Shoreditch during the 2nd week of September.
