Ladieswear Junior designer role 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Hi, Im looking for work as a Ladieswear Junior designer.

Currently I am working within a children's and ladieswear company assisting designing on accounts such as Disney children's wear, Ladies nightwear, unbranded Teenwear and Ladies Jersey tops . My main duty is to create and amend Cad designs, graphics, fashion shapes and specification sheets.

I also provide general assistance to the designers and account managers with researching trends/ themes, development samples, lab dips and strikeoffs. I have also recently started helping with the ladies nightwear and jerseywear accounts drawing up shapes/ cad and graphics work for them.

I am computer literate and enjoy using CAD packages such as Illustrator, Corel Draw and Photoshop.

Im looking to join a team designing 'young' ladies fashion, preferably casual wear such as jersey tops/ jeanswear/ streetwear with a young fun and edgy feel or a branded product.

I am contentious, hard working, highly motivated and committed to all the things I undertake.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, should you require further information; do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi, if I was currently in your position I would take the bull by the horns and contact the head of buying for my "ideal" company that I would want to work for. E.g. why not contact Caren Downie from TopShop who is head of buying. The place is a bit of flux with Jane Shepherdson going but they are always looking for new people.

BUT be different....instead of just putting in a speculative CV why not do a comparative or directioal shop. Highlight some postives and negatives from your local store and send in a letter. Let Caren see how you have researched ladieswear and what is currently on trend and what's not.

It's worth a go...stand out from the crowd and have a go - you really have nothing to lose.
