With reference to the above, I am keen to get into the fashion industry and was wondering if anyone could offer me any advice or assistance.

I have been working in design and more recently marketing related positions for over 7 years (I have recently settled in Leeds). My real passion has always been the fashion industry. However, I am having some difficulty trying to get a foot in the door. I have applied to a number of major companies and offered my services free of charge but the majority of my efforts have unfortunately been in vain. I have had some exposure to the fashion industry and would dearly love to be involved in the industry on a full time basis.

As I have studied graphic design, I come from a very creative background. I always keep myself up to date on the latest fashion trends and have also studied fashion history in my spare time. ? I am fully proficient in the following areas and believe that these skills would be transferable to a position within the fashion industry:
- Design for print
- Print Buying
- Art Directing photo shoots
- Creating sets for _style_ shots
- Website Design
- Writing design briefs / copy for submission in magazines
- Excellent administrative and project management skills

The type of role that I would love is basically what I am doing at the moment (Fashion Marketing Assistant) but with the opportunity to progress and further my career. I am also very interested in the areas of fashion stylists (Image Consultant) and fashion journalism (Fashion Magazine Administrator) and buying (Fashion Buyers Assistant).
