Yet another celebrity has boarded this copycat trend, dear Kristin Davis of Sex in the City has landed a contract with American department stores Belk to create a collection ready for this Autumn/Winter. Will keep you posted with the inevitable next celeb,

Emily

Thank you for addressing this subject. This has been the topic on many young fashion designers lips. Is it fare OR is it just business? Coming from a business prospective it is a very profitable step for a celebrity to have a fashion line but as I am a young designer I do sometimes feel cheated by this new craze. AND the saying is SO TRUE " it is not what you no, it is who you no"!

Have your say on the timeless "Education vs Experience" debate.

Celebrities such as Madonna, Lilly Allen, Gwen Stefani and many many more are collaborating with top High Street brands in hope to create fabulous new collections, however is this really fair on qualified designers spending years in education to achieve the required standard to enter the real world of fashion when celebrities can just waltz in, as and when they feel like it.

Why should these female celebrities have the opportunity, with no knowledge of the industry, to assist prestigious High Street stores with designing new collections? Unfortunately, it's clear to see "Its not what you know, it's who you know and who you are", a sad state of affairs in this day and age with the infinite educational opportunities on offer to a vast spectrum of individuals.
