The Learning and Skills Council have recognised and awarded Newham College of Further Education (NCFE) Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status in Textile Manufacturing and Design for its previous provision and excellence in this area.

The CoVE Award acknowledges Newham College for its work as a specialist provider in this sector, with established close links with business partners, trade associations, employers and communities that have been utilised to successfully revitalise textile, manufacturing and design industries.

NCFE currently offers a wide range of specialist provision within clothing and textiles. Funding through the CoVE ensures that the curriculum on offer is not only industry specific but directed by industry. Known as ZiP, the CoVE establishes the needs of the sector through on going research and then responds to the needs of textile and clothing companies, no matter what the nature of the business." from www.zip-cove.co.uk
