Welcome to the North East Business and Innovation Centre’s (BIC) new website.
The BIC is a not for profit business and technical support organisation which exists for the benefit of any business operation – large or small – throughout the North East of England and beyond.
With its headquarters in Sunderland, the BIC covers a 14 acre site and the prestigious complex is home to over 160 independent businesses. Established in 1994, the facilities have grown in line with the needs of industry and include specific incubator units to help nurture aspiring businesses.
This website has been designed with new and established businesses in mind and features an array of useful resources. The site will also guide you through the range of innovative services available from the BIC including a product and process development facility and Big Ideas Centre. |

Taking the first steps into business can be an extremely difficult time. However, help is available from the BIC's support team. Our expreienced business advisers will take you through each stage of starting your own business:
Since establishing, the BIC has helped over 2500 businesses to start up in the Tyne and Wear area and has acheived a survival rate which outstrips the national average, with more than 75% of businesses continuing to trade into their third year. The BIC has also played a key role in nurturing enterprise overseas, by sharing best practice across the European BIC network.
