The Irish Fashion Industry Federation (IFIF) was set to represent the interests of various companies in the Fashion Industry and to encourage co-operation between all Irish companies both sides of the border within the Industry. The Irish Fashion Industry Federation is unique in that it represents a cross section of companies in the fashion Industry, from SMEs, to fabric manufacturers to fashion and design colleges. In this way, it provides a forum for various players to work together for the benefit of the industry as a whole. The Irish Fashion Industry Federation provides a complete range of services to its members. Some of the activities the IFIF carries out include representation and liason with government and State agencies, it promotes the Fashion Industry to the media and retail outlets and organises and runs National Trade shows. The Irish Fashion Industry Federation represents various members, some of the member firms represented by the IFIF include; manufacturers, agents, garment distribution companies, distributors, CMT firms, fashion design academies, clothing machinery suppliers, fabric suppliers and trimming supply companies. Primarily the IFIF provides training and technical consultancy services and endorses and supports National and European programmes. The IFIF play a large part in obtaining funds from the European Commission for different Fashion industry related programmes and projects.
